One Day One Roll | August 2020 {Little Women Retreat Sunset Session}

I had to use a roll from my Little Women Retreat for this film blog circle. This retreat is for photographer moms and their tween daughters. Because of COVID, more than half of my attendees were unable to come, but I carried on (mostly because the venue refused to let me cancel). We had one sunset session, and I had to come back to this gorgeous location. The girls got RIGHT in the water and played in the mud, as they should, and got themselves all wet and dirty before we got even close to golden hour. Armed with my film cameras, I had zero problem shooting in that bright sun, and it all just felt like a dream.

Of course I cheated and shot both 120 and 35mm! Can we just call this one session one day? HA! This session made my heart sing. It combined all my favorite things to shoot: tween girls (including my Janey), pretty dresses, gorgeous light, water, mud, mountains, and just some beautiful Portra 800. I used my Pentax 645N with the mod Zeiss yet again, along with my Canon 1V with a 135mm lens (a combo I have not used for a while, but I am so glad I grabbed it).

When you’re through, make sure you head on over to the Jennifer Stamps.
