Why can’t school portraits be classic and beautiful? For the last ten years, I have been doing a different kind of school photography, allowing kids to be themselves, and creating portraits that will stand the test of time. With a mix of traditional poses and personality-led images, parents have more choices that feel natural, and the students have a more relaxed and fun experience.
While I only have a short time with each student, I am committed to keeping school picture day stress-free and fun. We plan ahead so that teachers know the schedule and can prepare in advance, and administrative details are in place so that I can concentrate on connecting with the students! Although I do have lights, I never use flash, which makes things a little less scary for the kids.
I am the only photographer at Blue Hill Images, so I take and edit all portraits personally. I have worked with thousands of students of all ages, mostly including kids with special needs. I have unique experience working with kids on the autism spectrum, who I deeply care about. Over the years, I get to know the kids, and this makes portraits easier and less intimidating.
No purchase is necessary in advance. When portraits are ready, parents will receive a link to a welcome page with instructions on ordering, and can then access the gallery where they will view their portraits. Each student has their own album with 5-10 portraits both in color and black and white. Both digital and print options are available.
